Privacy Policy

How SEFAS Technologies collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Clutta website and CLI.

Introduction

Welcome to SEFAS Technologies, Inc. ("us", "we", or "our"). SEFAS Technologies operates the website https://clutta.io and the Clutta CLI tool (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information resulting from your use of our Service. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register for a Clutta account or request beta access, we collect your email address. We use this to provision your API key, send you account-related notices, and communicate updates about the Service.

Usage Data

When you use the Clutta CLI, we collect diagnostic information about how the analysis pipeline is used. This includes the number of log lines processed, credit consumption per run, and whether a diagnosis was confirmed or rejected. This data is tied to your API key and is used to improve the Service and calculate billing.

Anonymous Install Telemetry

The first time you run clutta analyze, the CLI sends a single anonymous install event to our servers. This event includes:

  • A pseudonymous install ID: a randomly generated UUID stored locally at ~/.clutta/install-id. It is not linked to your account, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
  • Your operating system and CPU architecture
  • The CLI version
  • Whether the run is inside a CI environment, a container, or an interactive terminal
  • Your shell name and number of CPU cores
  • The approximate geographic region derived from your IP address (country, region, city, and ISP category)

IP address handling: Your IP address is used only to derive the geographic region listed above. It is passed to ipinfo.io over HTTPS and is never stored by Clutta. Only the derived fields (country, region, city, ISP category) are retained.

Opt out: Set CLUTTA_NO_TELEMETRY=1 in your environment before running any Clutta command to disable this entirely.

This event fires once per installation. Subsequent runs do not send it again.

Log Content

Log files you analyze are processed in memory during an analysis run. They are not stored on our servers beyond the duration of the request. We do not retain, index, or inspect the content of your logs.

Website Usage

When you visit clutta.io, we record the page visited, time of the visit, referrer, browser user agent, IP address, and country associated with that IP address. We use this first-party, server-side information to understand website traffic, improve the site, and identify abusive traffic. We do not use cookies or browser storage for this analytics, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-site tracking. Requests carrying a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal are not recorded.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Provision and manage API keys and credit balances
  • Understand how the CLI is being used so we can improve it
  • Send account-related communications such as key expiry notices
  • Detect and address technical issues
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services in the operation of Clutta:

  • ipinfo.io: Used server-side to derive geographic metadata from IP addresses during install telemetry processing. IP addresses are not stored by Clutta after this lookup.
  • Airtable: Used to store demo requests and first-party website visit records, including IP addresses and the associated visit details described above.

Retention of Data

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Usage, website visit, and telemetry data is retained only while needed for internal analysis, security, and reporting, and may be aggregated or anonymised. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at support@clutta.io.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you discover a security issue, please report it to support@clutta.io.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
